Chapter Seven - Phillip

I've caught a fallen angel, a goddess of unparalleled beauty. Her expression of serenity leaves my captured heart wide open. My declaration as she drifted to sleep feels permanent within my body. I know now I loved her instantly, my cheesy line about taking off my shirt a memorable start to our lifelong love affair.

Houston is my brother, but Brooke and I may need to find a place of own in the coming months. I felt terrible embarrassing him when he walked in on my sexy girl pinned to the bed. Having the freedom to take her at will when and where I choose is intoxicating.

My satiated mind wanders to my job interview. The required forms and documentation were submitted to Mr. Barker this morning after passing the online safety exams. Assuming my Naval designations and OSHA certificates are in place, I start Monday.

I'm guessing Brooke will hold off on another job until passing her finals. After we're engaged, I'll fly her to Sacramento to meet Dad. Mom hasn't replied to my attempts at contact; her disappointing behavior typical.

Sleepy arms stretch above her head as my girl wakes up. I capitalize on the opportunity by rolling on top of her and kissing my beauty. She hums contentedly, gazing at me with endless brown eyes.

"That's the best sleep I've had in weeks. You can come over anytime," she smiles, lightly massaging my shoulders and my neck.

"I'd like to come right now," I grin, her rosy pink cheeks kindling my desire.

"Tomorrow night. Some guy came by and distracted me from my studies. I'm way behind."

"Can we at least grab a bite to eat? I'm always hungry for you, but once in awhile, I need to feed my stomach too."

"Convince me."

Lord, I'll be uncontrollable in about sixty seconds if I don't get out of this hot zone.

"Tomorrow night," I chuckle, grudgingly rolling to a stand.

My beholden eyes follow her around the small bedroom, watching her sensual movements as she dresses in jeans and a t-shirt. Once both of us secure steady employment, she's moving in with me.

Brooke and I grabbed a quick sandwich last night, and I returned her safely home. She made me promise to control myself until she's finished with exams Friday morning. I don't think that's humanly possible when I'm around her.

Houston left early again to meet up with his Dad. I'm surprised he hasn't been more aggressive on the job front. After only six short days on land, we're both hungry for routine and discipline in our lives.

An incoming call grabs my attention, an unknown number from Las Vegas.

"Hello,"

"Phil, darling, how are you?"

The overly sweet tone in her voice is a dead giveaway. She wants something from me.

"Hi, Mom."

"I've missed you. What are you going to do now that you're back on land?"

I don't like where this is going.

"I'm starting a new job Monday. What's new with you?"

The long pause is worrisome, my first guess she's no longer married.

"Charlie and I divorced a few months ago; I caught him cheating with a cocktail waitress.
